May Dreams Come True

Samuel Taylor Coleridge once wrote, "What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you went to heaven and there plucked a strange and beautiful flower? And what if, when you awoke, you had the flower in your hand? Ah, what then?" Most people when they wake up from a pleasant dream or a horrific nightmare and just think to themselves it was just a dream. But is it really just a dream or is there a deeper meaning? I do not think we dream just to dream, there has to be a secret message that must be decoded the right way. Dreams should be taken as an advantage to learning things about your inner conscious and your personal being. Imagine if we did wake up with an object from one of our dreams, what would we do? Some people would pretend it did not happen because there would be no realistic explanation for it. On the other hand some people, me being one of them, would be fascinated with such an amazing experience and will not be able to wait to go to sleep and dream again to see what else they can bring back with them. Our world as we know it would not be the same. If we can pull out objects from our dreams, imagine the other abilities we can possibly have? I believe that dreams are a way to escape from the real world. You can go anywhere you want or have anything. Dreams have endless possibilities. It is sad how we forget half of our dream in the first few minutes of waking up. So i recommend everyone should have a dream journal to write everything they remember while their dream is still fresh in the mind. you never know, it can be an answer to a question in the future. Dreams are such a fascinating thing to learn about. To know how to interpret them, to me would be life changing because dreams are not straight forward; they have to be examined carefully to fully understand the real meaning. For example dreaming about being naked does not necessarily mean that, it means the person is afraid of being exposed of lying or committing a sin. There are dream dictionary's at library's or anywhere books are sold to help anyone get started on decoding dreams and finding out about your inner-self.

  1. Dreams are a fascinating thing to behold. I don’t understand them. They leave me wondering. I would be one of those people who would be freaked out but of course want to fall asleep again to see what can happen next. I wonder when dreams were first recorded and sought after to decode. I think dreams do have a deeper meaning, yet many studies have the disputed this fact there has also been studies showing that dreams do have a deeper meaning. Dreams are what inspire us all, they inspire the imagination.

  3. I find dreams as being an interseting topic. When people dream there is an endless amount of adventure that can be going on in one's mind. Sure dreams can be special and exciting, but they may also be the complete opposite. Dreams are a complex topic and they never fail to surprise anybody. Your writing and fascination about dreams is interesting and I find that writing about dreams shows how deep you look into one's imagination.

  5. Dreams are in fact fascinating, they are a brief escape from reality. A reality you might not enjoy. Some say that dreams are what ones inner soul desires. I had never thought about keeping a dream journal. i wish i had the knowledge to understand why dreams occur, but its a natural thing i guess. All you can do is enjoy those dreams which fill you with a little bit of glee even if it is just for a little while.

  6. I love dreams, and I think I might start doing what you said about he dream journal. Because, I hate when I'm trying to remember my dream and I can't think what happened, I only remember that it was good. But it would be cool and also scary, to have things be able to come out of our dreams, especially because some people dream about weird things... :)

  7. The only thing about dreams, is that they are so hard to remember. I hardly ever remember my dreams. I wish I'd remember them more though so I could talk about them. I agree dreams are very fascinating.
